This fabulous property is located in the friendly, bustling village of Albuñol, just 6 kms (5 min drive) from the seaside town of La Rabita. Albuñol is believed to be of Roman origin although its greatest splendour came with the Moriscos and in 1834 was named the regional judicial centre of the “Great Coast†(currently known as the Costa Tropical) – a privilege that was later transferred to the town of Motril.The municipality, like the whole area, is rugged and mountainous, rising behind the coastal cliffs of La Rabita, El Pozuelo and Castillo de Huarea. It lies on the southwestern slopes of the Contraviesa mountains, in a valley below the mountain known as Las Yeseras: it is part of the Alpujarra region and also belongs to the supra-municipal organisation collectively known as the Tropical Coast of Granada.
